Nude Model

So yesterday's Drawing class was a "life drawing" lesson. Which means we have a real live nude model. Now, if you don't know already, I'm a real prude and this kind of thing makes me completely uncomfortable. This might stem from my first life drawing session where a male model showed us waaaaaaay too much of himself! He was quite the exhibitionist and let it all hang out if you know what I mean. I was in complete shock the entire class, and through out the rest of the day, and didn't think I would be able to handle another class like that without the color draining from my face, and leaving it a crimson red.

But, you know what, yesterday's session wasn't that bad. Our model was a young female which happened to have a similar frame to me (which was weird), but she was completely professional and more natural than Mr. Show It Off. But I seriously have to wonder where someone gets the confidence to be a nude model. Where does that come from? Anyway, I'll post some my appropriate drawings soon as my camera battery just died.

I also teach art to kids and yesterday's lesson was cartoon animals. I have to laugh at how extremely different it was from my class. I am always impressed with what my kids will come up with. They are so creative, and it is very rewarding to see. It's a smaller class, and we all sit together at one table and chit chat while they draw. It's true that kids say the darnest things. Yesterday I learned that:

1. Sharks have a second dorsal fin.
2. Panda's should be drawn with small heads and big bodies.
3. All bunnies wish they were the Easter bunny.
4. Bedtimes Stories is really funny.
5. Sharpies smell really good, like Ms. H, their kindergarten teacher.

I'll have to remember to share some more...

Have a good one!

I'd be more nervous being the model than drawing it!
