Friday Favorites (on Monday): Fall Decor!

I LOVE this time of year. Just need to find some time to finish decorating... Hoping to finish up with the cute pumpkins we found at the pumpkin patch last week.

Baby Lily's Room

Our baby's room is finally complete! I had so much fun putting it together, from designing her bedding to crafting her chandelier lampshades! It's very girly and very baby, which is exactly what I was going for :) Can't wait for Miss Lily to arrive.

Home Cooking

I’m dreaming of kitchens. Seriously. Last night, I dreamed that I found a picture of my perfect kitchen in a magazine and A was able to make redo our entire kitchen in one day. What a perfect dream…

Next Steps...

Well yesterday didn’t exactly go as planned, my art is still incomplete and my laundry is still unclean, but I sure as heck spotted one bachelor and brother. It’s been my quest since moving to Austin to get a picture with Bachelor Brad, and bonus points if his twin brother is in the picture. Unfortunately, my husband and Austin friends have sworn that they would never speak to me again if I attempted this in their presence. So, I still am still lacking said picture, but I promise it will happen by the end of this year. Goal set.

In other news...
We visited with the Home Depot designer this morning. for 15 minutes. I wish I was kidding. I expected a sleek tall woman or a fabulous man to come to my door loaded with tile samples and paint swatches. What I got was a know-it-all handy man in a hurry. He “didn’t want to waste our time” since we weren’t completely interested in the cabinet re-facing that he was pushing. So he left us back at square one. We plan on talking with some family and friends to find some other resources. Needless to say I was disappointed with Home Depot’s faux design services.

In better news...
A and I enjoyed some fantastic movie watching with K this past weekend at the Alamo Drafthouse. We saw I Love You Man on Saturday. It was great! I. was. rolling! This movie is hysterical and I immediately wanted to watch it again if only to catch all the awesome one liners. Paul Rudd is adorable, and I totally have a girl crush on Rashida Jones.
We saw Adventureland on Sunday night. Special advanced screening which was cool but I give the movie a “meh.” It’s a wanna-be Dazed and Confused with less fun actors. I am NOT a Kristen Stewart fan, and she is just as annoying in this movie as she was in Twilight. Ugh.

A Good Day

Even though the weather is damp and gross and I'm still not quite myself, I feel that today is going to be a good day...

On the agenda:

1. Lunch with S at the infamous Wahoo's Fish Tacos
2. An afternoon in the "studio" creating an animal out of beading wire, and finishing my mat board sculpture of the Eiffel tower for design class. awesome.
3. Laundry. It’s bad, really bad…
4. Home cooked dinner by my lovely husband.
5. Chuggin' Monkey's Anniversary Party. Hoping to spot one naughty bachelor.

Other News...
A and I have decided to renovate our 90's kitchen. We visited Home Depot earlier this week with the idea of painting or re-staining our kitchen cabinets as well as replacing our ugly laminate counter tops and beige and blue back splash. Lucky for us, Home Depot is running a cool promotion right now. They will send a designer to your house to assist you with the renovation project free of charge.

They are really pushing cabinet re-facing, but they also bring out counter top and back splash samples, give your design ideas, and work out a plan that fits within your budget. No strings attached that we know of, and you get a full two hours of their time. We meet with the designer tomorrow morning, so I'll let you know how it goes!

My new favorite person:
Bethany Frankel.I’m pretty obsessed with the Real Housewives of New York, to the point that I read their cast blogs. They are almost as entertaining as the show itself. These girls are the BEST, so fun to watch and Bethany is by far the showstopper in my opinion. I enjoy her quick wit, and healthy sense of self. I would watch the Bethany show if given the opportunity.

Anywho, I was interested in her book Naturally Thin, and after reading the excerpt I hopped over to Amazon to order it, along with Jillian Michael’s 30-Day Shred DVD. I’ve heard really good things about this DVD and if all goes well I might have to order her new Wii program as well. Keep you posted.
